This breed respects 4’ fencing making it so easy to free range, they are quiet, cuddly and perfect for a backyard flock. I selected one Rooster that hatched from a Jumbo Egg and one Rooster that came from a gorgeous Speckled Egg for my flock and can’t wait to see what their babies produce! Lemon Cuckoo Niederrheiners were introduced into the United States in 2014. In 2021 the breeding population was reported to be 1660. This dual purpose breed has a sweet docile demeanor and lays around 200 light tan eggs per year. Some of my girlies eggs have heavy blooms, appearing pink and I strive to breed for all the speckles 🥰. I purchased my lines from 5 separate breeders in the United States and it shows with the vast array of egg colors I get. Slowly but surely, I will be breeding for Jumbo, heavy blooms and speckles. This breed is 100% a MUST for homesteaders wanting self sufficiency. Their meat is fantastic and so tender. While they take double the time to grow out than a Cornish Cross, it’s so worth it to be able to raise happy healthy babies from the very eggs they produce in a self sustainable way 🍋💛🌱
