The Schijndelaar, pronounced "Shine-dul-ar." is an exotic breed that originated in the Netherlands during the late 20th Century. The Schijndelaar wasn’t imported into the United Stated until 2018 making them extremely rare. They lay gorgeous eggs ranging from green to blue. While they are solid white and absolutely STUNNING, the males steal the show with the most beautiful long tails. This super friendly breed is definitely a dream to own.

🛑 Schijndelaars breed standard is a pea comb. Some Schijndelaars are born with a straight comb (even some of the babies I’ve purchased from Greenfire have a straight comb).I have purchased Schijndelaars from FOUR separate breeders will be diligently working to correct this in my flock over the years. Just be aware, you have the potential of hatching or receiving babies with a straight comb as well.
